Not rainbows and denial — actual balance. The world contains both suffering and progress. Most news shows you only one half. We built Positivity Pulse to show you the other.
Positivity Pulse started from a simple, personal observation: opening the news before breakfast reliably makes your day start worse. Not because the world is terrible — but because the news is structurally biased towards the terrible, because terrible things generate more clicks.
The problem is not that people are uninformed. Most people in developed countries are over-informed — they consume more news than any generation in history, and feel correspondingly worse about the world despite living through one of the safest, healthiest, most technologically advanced periods in human history.
The response to this is not ignorance. Deliberately avoiding news is its own kind of distortion. The response is balance — and a different relationship with how you consume information about the world.
Positivity Pulse was built to provide that balance. Real positive news, from real sources, curated honestly. Paired with the habit tools — mood tracking, journaling, community — that make it a sustainable daily practice rather than a novelty.
These are not mission statement platitudes — they are design constraints that directly affected how we built the product.
We are not trying to replace mainstream news. We are trying to complement it. Our editorial policy explicitly requires that positive stories be factually accurate and from credible sources — not feel-good fabrications.
Negativity bias in media is not an English-language problem. We built 7-language support into the core architecture because wellbeing tools should work for everyone, not just English speakers.
We do not sell your data or monetise your attention through advertising. Revenue comes from the optional Pulse+ subscription. Your mood, journal, and personal information stay yours.
The core app is permanently free. Premium features exist to fund development — not to gate-keep basic mental wellbeing tools behind a paywall.
A wellbeing app you use once has zero value. Every design decision in Positivity Pulse is evaluated against whether it makes the daily habit more likely — not whether it looks impressive in a demo.
Individual wellbeing and social connection are not separate. The community wins feed is not a social network feature — it is a core wellbeing mechanism backed by research on social gratitude and witnessing.
Free. No app store required. Works on any device.
